Our Mission

Findings Resource Centre offers Skills Lab and Respite Care for individuals with developmental disabilities (PDD). We provide the highest quality care that includes activities based on interests and ability levels. “Remarkable solutions for everyone” is more than just our motto; it is our creed when it comes to setting goals and strategies for each client. We are focused on creating positive changes for our clients and facilitating their inclusion and acceptance into society.

Ivan Cherkezov

President & Program Director

Finding Resource Centre is a private company headed by Ivan Cherkezov a President and Program Director. Ivan holds a double major in Disability Studies and Special Education. As a special educator and disability service provider with more than twenty years of international experience, he has developed outstanding professional skills in both fields.

In Calgary, Ivan has been providing specialized services through several accredited agencies as well as privately. In the role of a Complex Needs Education Assistant, Ivan has embraced great opportunities to work with high school students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) at a local specialized school. 

Ivan created Findings Resource Centre in late 2019 and has dedicated his time and skills to providing outstanding services within FRC where clients come first, and remarkable solutions are developed for each one of them.

-Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy establishes rules to govern the collection, use and disclosure of personal information collected by FRC in the course of its business, in compliance with federal and provincial privacy laws including the Canada Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Alberta’s Personal Information Protection Act.

This Privacy Policy applies to all individuals whose personal information FRC collects, uses or discloses in the course of its operations. This includes individuals who are clients or participants in the FRC’s programs/services and also includes all individuals who are contract workers, contractors, and consultants to FRC. It is our policy to only disclose the participant’s or your personal information as required or authorized by law or as otherwise set out in this policy.

Personal Information

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, “personal information” means information about an identifiable individual, but does not include a person’s name, title, business address or telephone number, as an employee of an organization. Where this Privacy Policy states that a list of items is “including”, the lists so described are meant to be examples and not exhaustive or exclusive. This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information that is collected, used or disclosed by FRC. FRC has designated a Privacy Officer to be accountable for the operation of this Privacy Policy. Individuals may question or report any privacy concerns, breaches, violations or compliance issues to the FRC as indicated below. If the policies and procedures outlined in this document do not address a specific situation, individuals are advised to contact Ivan Cherkezov for guidance or clarification.

What Personal Information Does FRC Collect?

FRC may collect certain personal information, either directly or through partners, affiliates or associates. The personal information may be collected in person, over the telephone, through the mail or over the internet. In general, personal information collected, used and disclosed about prospective, present or former employees is for administering, planning and managing the individual’s employment relationship with FRC and includes but is not limited to:

· Determining eligibility for initial employment, including the verification of references and qualifications;

· Administering pay and benefits;

· Facilitating professional development and performance;

· Complying with applicable employment or legal requirements;

· Communicating with staff; and

· Other reasonable purposes as required to manage the employment relationship.

In general, the personal information collected, used and disclosed about external individuals is for the purpose of:

· Managing and administering FRC’s programs, services and contracts with external individuals;

· Managing FRC’s relationship with and providing for the safety of external individuals;

· Meeting any legal or regulatory requirement or obligation; and

· Other reasonable purposes consistent with FRC’s business objective.

Protection of Personal Information

FRC considers personal information collected to be private and confidential. FRC will not collect, use or disclose personal information for any purpose other than those identified, except with consent or where permitted by law to do so.

Consent

FRC has developed this Privacy Policy to inform the public of its practices regarding the collection, use and disclosure of personal information. Unless an individual contacts FRC to advise otherwise, the individual is deemed to acknowledge and agree that there is consent for the collection, use and disclosure practices set out in this Policy as it relates to Personal Information. Consent may be withdrawn at any time by advising FRC in writing or by email. However, withdrawal of consent is subject to the terms and conditions of any contractual agreements with FRC and any other legal restrictions.

Obtaining Access to Personal Information

FRC will permit an individual, or the parent or legal guardian of said individual, to access and review the individual’s personal information held by FRC unless the release of the information may be withheld as permitted or required by law. For further information on how to access your personal information, please contact FRC as set out below. Requests for personal information must be made in writing or by e-mail. Individuals may be required to verify their identity or authority to access a particular individual’s personal information in order to access said personal information. Any such documentation provided shall be used for verification purposes only. FRC will respond to requests concerning personal information within 30 days of receipt of the request, or as may be permitted in accordance with applicable privacy legislation. A fee for reasonable costs incurred may be charged when responding to more complex requests. The individual will be informed of the applicable fee.

Security of Personal Information

Personal Information will be protected by reasonable security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information. Personal information will be retained by FRC for the period of time necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected and as required by applicable laws. FRC will notify the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, without delay, of a security breach affecting personal information if it creates a real risk of significant harm to individuals. Violations of this Privacy Policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment for just cause, without notice or pay in lieu of notice or termination of contract.

At FRC We Care

FRC’s Covid-19 Policies and Procedures

 

At Findings Resource Centre we care about the health and safety of our staff, designated visitors, vendors and program participants. The following outlines the procedures that will be used at the program location for Findings Resource Centre. All staff, designated visitors, vendors and program participants must adhere to these protocols as outlined by AHS. We have modified procedures and rearranged the facility space to adhere to COVID-19 protocols and ensure physical and social distancing. Our procedures will continue to evolve and adapt in accordance with the guidelines from AHS.

Everyone who wants to enter a FRC Facility must complete our questionnaire and have a temperature screening. See a copy of our questionnaire HERE

Our facility has been reorganized to ensure social and physical distancing and manage interaction between program participants and FRC staff Highlights of our procedures are below, with more details in our policy and procedures document that you can view HERE

  1. Our facility, furniture and program materials will be sanitized and cleaned after daily.
  2. Facility continually cleaning washrooms and facility areas between program participants.
  3. Facility is rearranged to provide appropriate space to ensure social and physical distancing throughout our facility.
  4. Staff will perform hand hygiene frequently and between sessions with program participants.
  5. Staff will be wearing required PPE gloves & face shields. PPE Gloves and shields will be changed between program participants. Protective face shields are re-sanitized after ever use, and at the end of every day.
  6. At the start of every day or shift all staff must complete the questionnaire and temperature check.
  7. All sick or symptomatic staff or program participants are required to stay home.
